Lip Enhancement

The way your skin looks is directly related to the way your skin is supported. As we age, the natural support layers in the skin break down; the loss of structure and volume results in the formation of unwelcome lines and wrinkles. Many factors such as sun exposure and smoking play a role in aging of the lips. Lip enhancement procedures can help the lips regain fullness and help to reverse the signs of aging. Both JuvedermŽ Ultra and JuvedermŽ Ultra Plus contain non-animal-based hyaluronic acid which has been clinically proven to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial folds.

What is Hyaluronic Acid?

  • Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural complex sugar found in all living cells, and one of the major components of the dermis connective tissue matrix, along with collagen and elastin.

  • HA retains water like a sponge, absorbing more than 1000 times its weight. This helps to attract and maintain water; hydrating your skin and increasing its volume and density.

  • The manufacturers of both Juvederm and Restylane have found ways to produce, purify and package HA to make it available for wrinkle correction.

Both JuvedermŽ and RestylaneŽ are injectable smooth gel fillers that are injected directly into the lips by an ultra fine needle, resulting in minimal discomfort. It will instantly smooth out those wrinkles or folds that look like parentheses along the sides of your nose and mouth in addition to making the lips more full and pouty. The long-lasting results are so smooth and natural, everyone will notice but no one will know your secret! Camille Griswold, FNP-C is an injection specialist who can discuss the best lip enhancement formulation to suit your needs.
  • The procedure is simple and convenient, and results are practically instantaneous.
  • Fillers last twice as long as collagen, so treatments are typically scheduled twice a year. Evidence shows that having a touch-up treatment before the product has fully dissipated, which is 4-6 months, will enhance the lasting effect.
  • In general, injections may cause some discomfort; topical and injectable anesthetics are typically used.
